Biographies

Marie-Louise Perron, B.A., B.Ed., M. ès Arts :
Ms Perron was, from 1985 to 1991, Francophone Archivist at the Saskatchewan Archives Board. Since 1992, she has been on staff at the Library and Archives of Canada engaged in developing new service initiatives. Most recently she has been Content Specialist with the Canadian Genealogy Centre. Marie-Louise has presented and published papers, in both English and French, on French/Métis folksongs and folktales, distant access to archival services, and the Perron-Laderoute-Marion-St. Arnaud families, her ancestors among the Red River (Manitoba) Métis.

Kathie Orr:
Kathie Orr UE is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (specializing in Canadian history). She now works as a genealogical researcher and speaker. She is a Trustee & Past-President of the Toronto Branch, United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada, a founding member and Director of APOLROD (Association for the Preservation of Ontario Land Registry Office Documents), a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and a former Board Member of The Friends of the Archives of Ontario. Kathie has taught many courses in the Toronto area, and for organizations such as the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society and the Flint (Michigan) Genealogy Society and Public Library.

Rick Roberts:
Rick Roberts is the co-founder of Global Genealogy.com Inc./Global Genealogy & History Shoppe.He has published more than 100 history and genealogy bookswith his publishing company, Global Heritage Press Inc. An experienced researcher and lecturer, he speaks to groups across North America on using computer technology for family history research.

Ryan Taylor:
Ryan Taylor was educated at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. He is a genealogical librarian at the Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He lectures extensively on Canadian and English genealogy, and is the author of a number of books, including Researching in Canadian Archives and Researching Canadian Newspapers. He was editor of Families, the journal of the Ontario Genealogical Society 1988-1997, and is now author of family history columns in the Kitchener-Waterloo Record and online at www.interlinkbookshop.com. He is on the faculty of the National Institute of Genealogical Studies in Toronto.
